Pay & Benefits
PAY RATES back to top
The twelve hour shifts range from $665.00 per shift to $364.00 per shift. The pay rate depends on the hospital you choose, the State in which the hospital is located, the hospital’s rate to us and your specific housing requirements. If you choose hospitals in the Southern States or Arizona or Nevada, the pay rates will go down because hospitals in these States have such low rates. We pay Nurses based on what the hospital pays us. If the hospital pays us more than others, we pass this on to our Nurses. This is why there is such a range of pay rates per specific assignment.
Northern California pays the highest. Southern California hospitals pay about $5.00 less per hour. Assignments in Arizona and Nevada tend to be about $7.00 less per hour than Northern California and our hospitals in the South pay about $7.00 to $10.00 less per hour than Northern California.
DAILY OVERTIME is the law in California. Do not let other agencies mislead you about this. It does not matter where the agency is located, if you work in California, you are to be paid per California law. For example, if the twelve hour shift rate is $665.00 – this is paid as the first eight hours at $47.50 per hour, the next four hours is overtime (x 1.5) which is $71.25 per hour. We hear that Nurses are paid straight time for twelve hour shifts by some other agencies because the agencies tell the Nurses that they do not have to pay per California law because the agency is not located in California. Do not let this happen to you. Overtime is over forty (40) hours per week in all States EXCEPT California.
Your contract with us will be either three or four twelve hour shifts per week. We encourage all of our Nurses to work extra in either their contracted hospital or in our other hospitals close to your assigned hospital. When you work extra, your pay rate increases to the higher rate which is (depending on the hospital) from $40.00 to $52.50 per hour. We also put your extra shifts on a separate check for your convenience.
Working extra is how our Nurses are making $3500.00 per week. They work their three contracted shifts and then work the two extra shifts. This is totally optional but most Nurses prefer to do this. Your extra shifts are scheduled for you through our Registry per diem division when you choose to work extra over your contracted shifts.

INSURANCE & TAXES back to top
Agostini pays for your Malpractice Insurance and Worker's Compensation Insurance and all mandated Federal and State payroll taxes.
If you are "shopping around" please be careful; we have Nurses calling us every day who got slammed with taxes at the end of the year because their agency was not paying their payroll taxes. Also, be sure that these other companies are paying for your Malpractice and Worker's Compensation Insurance.
BONUSES back to top
We don't offer them. We feel that this practice of paying a lower rate during the assignment and then giving a bonus at the end of the assignment is insulting and manipulative to the Nurse. It's a way of trying to insure that the contract will be completed; we prefer to trust the integrity of the Nurse and pay well during the assignment and not make the Nurse wait until the end of the assignment to "get the gravy".
